“Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hears and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are”- Rolf Gates
I never would have guessed that I’d be practicing yoga, let alone teaching yoga because it just didn’t fit my “lifestyle” or anyone’s I grew up with..or even knew, but here I am now and that’s what matters. I began practicing yoga for the physical benefits, but also with the hope of finding something that I felt was missing from my life. Little by little I began to change, my thoughts, my feelings…both inward and outward. Taking my 200 hour teacher training only enhanced that and has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Yoga is changing me for the better, and in turn is changing my relationships with family and friends, also for the better, but at the same time, throughout all the change, yoga is also bringing me back to who I always was and what I’ve always felt but just never took the time to listen and/or trust.
I used to say that I wish I’d found yoga earlier, but I know now that it wasn’t my time then and that’s ok. Yoga is for everyone, regardless of size, color, age, or income. There is no “yogi mold” and true yogis know and appreciate that. I look forward to sharing the love and practice with all because I feel yoga will help you get through life & all it's challenges, and then help you LIVE your best life.
